Summary
I stumbled over Timestripe which is basically a Kanban board but each of the columns is grouping cards by a certain time.
You might want to take a look at the attached examples to have a better idea what I'm referring to.
In my opinion Vikunja is able to do even more than Timestripe in general but the dynamic grouping gives a different user experience for a Kanban board.
Maybe this is even possible somehow and I'm just missing the bit how to configure it properly.
It's just a UX improvement (but obviously so good, that Timestripe made it their business model) and Trello made it into a popular extension.
We do have a calendar view planned. I've also been thinking (and gathering feedback, for that matter) about some kind of dynamic kanban boards which would allow creating buckets based on some kind of filter, day/week could be one of them.
This is also something people coming from Focalboard might find interesting.
