Actually there are only package builded for Debian Stretch, but Stretch is oldstable.
Current stable is Buster.
I think that speaks volume about when I used Debian :)
I'll change that to release packages for buster. Have you tried running the stretch package on buster though? That should work without issues.
I was just reading the docs as I am thinking of hosting Vikunja and I noticed that the Debian package was built only for Stretch.
Did not try the package.
Anyway I self-host a lot of apps in LXD/C container so I use many Linux OS, not only Debian.
As this is a GO app, any distribution would be OK, but having a package is nice for updates. So whenever there is a package for a specific distribution I will use that distribution in a container to deploy the app.
I've changed this in
7dc2abb8e5
to create the deb structure only for buster. (CI is running - should take a bit until this is available at https://dl.vikunja.io)Since you're not using debian anyway, I'd suggest to simply use the deb packages from the downloads (just take a look at any version in https://dl.vikunja.io/api, there's
.deb
files in there), the structure in the deb folder on dl is really just for using Vikunja as a debian repo.Closing since this is somewhat resolved, feel free to reopen if you have any issues.
