I'm starting to use vikunja for my daily life and I just wanted to share some ideas and it's really cool. I just wanted to share an idea.

I have 3 namespaces where I put things that must be done at some due dates like buy Jerry's cake, send email to clients , etc..

and 5 namespaces where it's just a way to remember small things not very urgent like a good book to read, a movie advised by a friend, etc.

First thing I see when I woke up and open the app to organise my day is the overview. The thing is there is no way to see what's due for this week/day and all tasks even without due dates get mixed on the overview. Moreover they show up by date creation whatever the due date is. I know I'm not using Overview the good way but still I use it this way because it's the only available way to see the potential things that I have to do between my different namespace on the same day.

For my problem a quick win would be a simple today's tasks ordered by the due date and ignoring tasks without the due date.

But to make it more flexible and interesting to everyone I think it would be better if the user could create views by selecting the name spaces in / type of tasks / takes labels / color/ due dates / etc...

I don't know if this kind of idea/sharing helps. Tell me if you get the picture of my idea, if it makes sense. We can exchange more about it. If this kind of sharing bother you, I will stop and sorry for the inconvenience.

I think what we could do soon without much hassle is only showing tasks with due dates on the "Next Week/Month" pages (No tasks without due dates, as it is right now).

I plan on having this exact kind of thing where users can create a "virtual list" which is basically a set of saved filters where a user could get exactly the kind of views and filters they want. It is a bit tricky to solve, mostly because I need to get filters working before that.

I've just moved it up on the roadmap.

Such feedback really helps and is very valuable for me! So please don't be shy to share the ideas you have!

You never know how your users will use your product until you have actual users trying it. Having these kind of feedback loops help make it better for everyone. As a developer, I can only make assumptions about usage and most of the time, they are based on how I would use it. Therefore it is perfectly natural for others to have different ideas. Sharing these ideas then helps me to better understand you and other users and improve Vikunja for everyone.

You can now create "saved filters" which are some kind of virtual list based on a set of filters. Please let me know if that fixes your issue.
