Saving from the edit page with an empty due date field simply reverts to the last saved due date range.

Fixed in e673d965d5 - a new unstable release with a fix will be ready shortly. Please check with that (the demo will be updated shortly after the ci releases the new unstable version), feel free to reopen if you have any issues.
